Egypt’s Al-Azhar to Hold Quran Memorization Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 3rd edition of a Quran memorization competition for students of Egypt’s Al-Azhar University and affiliated schools will start on October 30.

 

The competition will be sponsored by Al-Azhar chief Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, according to Mobtada.com website.

The university’s Quranic Affairs Department said the preliminary stage of the contest will be organized from October 30 to November 26.

Al-Azhar faculties and affiliated schools will hold this round across the country and those who score 80 out of 100 will make it to the finals, it added.

The date of the final round will be announced by the organizers later.

Memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 20 and 10 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book are the categories of the competition.
